Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome - autoimmune?

Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is very common in ME. And we are waiting for the scientists to find out if ME is an autoimmune disease. So I made a search in www.pubmed.com on "POTS autoimmune" and two hits popped up:

Autoimmunoreactive IgGs from patients with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome:
"PURPOSE: Autoantibodies are implicated in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases and cardiac arrhythmias. In this pilot study, we tested the hypothesis that autoantibodies are present in patients with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS)
CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL RELEVANCE:  Autoantibodies are present in patients with POTS. These autoantibodies cross-react with a wide range of cardiac proteins and may induce alterations in cardiac function. Autoimmune pathogenetic mechanisms should be further explored in these patients."

Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome: the Mayo clinic experience:
"OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the prevalence and pathogenetic mechanisms of postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS).
CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest a neuropathic basis for at least half the cases of POTS and that a substantial percentage of cases may be autoimmune. Hyperadrenergic and hypovolemic correlates are likely compensatory or exacerbating."
